At age three, Sarah Friedman’s love for soccer began when her parents enrolled her in the Lower Merion Soccer Club. With a clear affinity for the game, she continued to play for LMSC and also joined the FC Pennsylvania Strikers where the team won a regional title and placed third in Nationals in 2008. At Friends Central, she helped secure the Friends League title and was named Outstanding Senior Athlete.

On the soccer team at the University of Pennsylvania (2007-2010), the team won two Ivy League titles. Friedman holds the all-time season assist record and all-time career assist record and finished her career at Penn having played 69 games (started in 61), 9 goals and 30 assists. A two-time First Team All-Ivy selection, Friedman was named Academic All-Star by the Philadelphia Inquirer. Awarded South Eastern Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches College Athlete of the Year, in her senior year she was named a NSCAA Scholar All-America, Second Team USA and NSCAA Scholar All-America, First Team Eastern Division.

After leaving Penn, she was named to the All-Penn All-Time Women’s Soccer Team. Friedman also represented the USA in the Maccabiah Games in Israel in 2009 where her team won the gold medal, and she was named the tournament MVP.

With a degree in Psychology, she moved to Tel Aviv where she played for three seasons with the ASA Tel Aviv Women’s Soccer Team. The team captured the Israel Championship between the years of 2012-2014 and qualified for the UEFA Champions League. In her final year in Israel, Friedman was named the league MVP and also played in several campaigns with the Israeli Women’s National Team.

Returning to the US, she earned her Doctorate in Psychology at Widener University. Currently working in Private Practice in Philadelphia, she offers psychological and neuropsychological services.

Friedman and her husband, Amit Serusi, live in Philadelphia with their daughter.
